【AS】Intercooler

A large-capacity intercooler designed from scratch for the Ford Focus 2.3 ST (MK4). Fits without cutting the car, and keeps intake temperatures down when the standard one gives up.

The standard intercooler is small. On a track or a mountain road under sustained load, intake temperatures climb quickly, the engine's protection kicks in and the power falls away. That is heat soak.

The AutoScience Studio intercooler was developed around the space behind the MK4 bumper. A stepped core tapers from 85 mm to 35 mm so the core is as big as the space allows, with the largest frontal area and cooling capacity we could fit without touching the bodywork. The end tanks are cast in one piece rather than welded, which guides the airflow more precisely, is stronger and seals better.
