KEN Great design
A complete 6-pot caliper and disc kit built for hard road and track use. The caliper bodies are forged, two-piece and CNC machined.
Standard brakes are fine for normal road use, but on track or on a fast mountain road the discs heat up quickly under repeated heavy braking. That's when brake fade sets in and the car stops pulling up the way you expect.
The AutoScience Studio 6-pot caliper uses a forged, two-piece body, CNC machined. Forging keeps the grain flow of the metal continuous, so the body is stiffer and stands up to fatigue better than a casting. The two-piece construction deflects less under high clamping loads, which you feel as a firmer pedal, shorter travel and more linear braking. This is how high end road and track calipers are built, and it's the fundamental difference between this kit and a one-piece cast caliper.
The 6-pot layout spreads clamping force evenly across the disc face, which cuts down on judder and uneven pad wear.
▌ Specification
- Caliper body: forged, two-piece, CNC machined
- Pistons: 6-pot
- Minimum wheel size: 18in (this is the wheel size, not the disc diameter)
- Kit contents: calipers and discs, per set
▌ Features
- Forged two-piece caliper body, stiffer and more fatigue resistant than a one-piece casting
- 6-pot design for strong, even clamping force
- Large diameter discs for more heat dissipation area
- Resists thermal fade under repeated heavy braking on track
- Complete kit, discs included
- Looks the part behind a large wheel
▌ Compared with standard
- Forged two-piece CNC machined body deflects less under load than a one-piece casting
- Far more clamping force and heat dissipation area than standard
- Holds up under repeated heavy braking where the standard setup fades
- Even 6-pot clamping cuts judder and uneven pad wear
Fitment: Ford Focus 2.3 ST. Fitting available at our workshop.
